Other markets just keep getting the good stuff—Hyundai’s latest announcement is proof.
The Korean carmaker has now introduced the new Kona Night Edition in America, a blacked-out version of its subcompact crossover. While the US gets both this and the electric version, we get a lone gasoline-powered option here in the Philippines.
But enough moping, back to the car. As we said, the Night Edition model is the Kona covered in a plethora of gloss black trims. The exterior features a dark finish accentuated with more black elements including the side mirrors and those stylish 18-inch Rays semi-gloss black alloy wheels.
The interior sports the same look, with the seats and plastic trims finished in black. Parts like the door locks and handles have been given the gloss black treatment as well. Aluminum alloy sport pedals give the cabin an even sportier and sleeker look.
Under the hood, the Kona Night Edition gets a 1.6-liter turbocharged mill mated to a seven-speed DCT. The setup—which is also unavailable here in our market—can generate 175hp and achieve fuel consumption of 12.75km/L under combined driving conditions.
What do you think of the Hyundai Kona Night Edition? If you like the look, we reckon you’ll also fancy the recently-unveiled Kia Telluride Nightfall Edition, too—check that one out here.
