Kia recently provided a small preview of the all-new K5 midsize sedan—or the Optima as we called it when it was still in our market. Now, the Korean carmaker has revealed full images of the vehicle, and it looks pretty damn good.
Its front fascia features a reworked ‘Tiger Nose Evolution’ design, with a more aggressive grille and thinner headlamps. The sharp edges on the front end are complemented by smooth lines that flow toward the distinct creases on the rear end, on which Kia has fitted some new-look combination taillights.
Up top, the fastback roofline is accentuated by a chrome strip that goes all the way back to the base of the frameless rear window. The car sits on aluminum alloy wheels that vary from 16- to 19-inchers, with three color options: gloss black, dark gray, and light gray.
The new Kia Optima is a bit larger, stretching 50mm longer and 25mm wider than the previous-generation model. It stands 20mm lower as well, which adds to the sportier profile. Unfortunately, no details on engine options have been provided as of this writing.
Kia says that this new sedan will be available come December, but only in Korea. Do you like what has been revealed so far? More important, do you want to see this vehicle land on Philippine shores?
