Now that it’s under new management, Geely Philippines is beginning its stewardship under the main company, Geely Auto International Corporation (GAIC). With that, we can expect a host of new models that could shake up the local lineup.
One of the first of these launches is the facelifted Geely Coolray. We’ve driven it back in April around the company’s factory in China. Now, that model is in the Philippines with units coming in dealerships this month.

Like the model we drove in China, the one that landed here also features a redesigned front fascia with a sharper design. It comes with slimmer LED matrix headlights and a wider lower air intake for a sportier look.
The body carries over unchanged, but there are new 18-inch ‘Tomahawk’ wheels for this new Coolray. Geely also redesigned the tailgate with the plate holder relocated and houses new tail lights.

Inside, the 2025 Geely Coolray gets a major overhaul. It now comes with a fully digital instrument cluster and a larger ‘floating’ infotainment screen. Interior color combinations have also been changed.
For safety, this subcompact crossover comes equipped with 540-degree HD panaromic system and intelligent 4-way HD DVR. There’s also blind spot monitoring and automatic parking assist.

It’s the engine that has the biggest change for the 2025 model year. The 1.5-liter three-pot turbo is no more. It’s now replaced by a 1.5-liter, four-cylinder turbo that puts out more torque. Power is rated at 172hp and, more importantly, 290Nm of torque. It then shifts with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Prices have yet to be determined, as well as the variant list. More details will be released later this month.
