It’s been a while since we last posted an update on the all-new Hyundai Palisade. Following previews, the redesigned flagship crossover has been formally launched in its home market of South Korea. Great news, then.
And with that, the full specs of the plushest crossover SUV to wear a Hyundai badge are officially out. It makes for interesting reading, especially in the features part.

But first, the powertrains. It was initially reported that the new generation Palisade won’t come with a diesel or a V6. That has since been confirmed with the release of the specs. While there will be those who will mourn the loss of those options, its replacements do come with about the same power but heaps more efficiency.
Taking over the V6 is a 2.5-liter turbo sourced from the Santa Fe. It makes 277hp and 422Nm, lower in terms of power compared to the old 3.8-liter V6, but offers significantly more torque. For those who prefer something more efficient, the hybrid option replaces the old 2.2-liter CRDI. In its place is another 2.5-liter turbo, this time paired with dual electric motors. The electrified Palisade puts out 258hp and 353Nm.

And now, for the features. There are three variants to choose from, namely Exclusive, Prestige, and Calligraphy. Base models (Exclusive) come equipped with rain-sensing wipers, roof rails, double-pane windows for added noise isolation, a digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, heated and ventilated first-row seats, and heated second-row seats. Also, the 100w USB-C ports mean one can actually charge laptops quickly. There’s also the option of getting a front bench seat to give room for 9 occupants.
Move up to the Prestige, and it even comes with water repellant glass for the front windows for improved visibility in inclement weather. It also benefits from a panoramic curved screen display that houses both the instrumentation and infotainment system. A 360-degree camera is also included, as well as blindside cameras tucked away under the side mirrors. An electric tilt and telescopic steering wheel is fitted standard, along with a fingerprint authentication system that starts up the car and loads the driver’s profile.

As for the top-dog Calligraphy, it adds brushed metal-effect trims on the outside and larger wheels. Drivers get a head-up display, while all rear passengers get an extra degree of privacy with the window shades that reach up to the third row. The second-row seats benefit from cooled seats, and even the third-row comes with heaters…in case it snows in the Philippines.
Prices? In South Korea, prices for the all-new Hyundai Palisade start at 43.83 million won (2.5T Exclusive 2WD), all the way to 64.24 million won (2.5T Calligraphy Hybrid AWD). In local prices, that’s roughly P1.76-M to P2.57-M, sans taxes. For reference, the soon to be outgoing model retails for P3.780-M and only comes in one variant.

Should Hyundai Philippines bring the all-new model, we suggest going straight for the AWD Calligraphy model. Might as well go all out, right?
