Here comes Kia with another EV to add to its 2025 lineup. The 2025 Kia EV6 took the stage at the LA Auto Show last week, boasting a larger battery and quite a number of variants.

The new EV6 also ditches its predecessor’s smooth, matte shell for a glossier exterior—following suit from the bigger Kia EV9 and the smaller EV3.

However, the new Kia EV6 also stands out from its bigger and smaller companions thanks to its sharper and sleeker design. The Kia EV9 and the EV3 are fitted in boxy panels, but the EV6 remains true to its roots. It sits on a low and thin profile that sharpens off into its roofline, and finally curves down on the rear. The headlights and tailights feature a new design pattern that’s also found on the latest Kia cars.

Shape-wise it does look and feel similar to the previous EV6, but that shiny new paint job definitively sets it apart.

Where the difference really lies is in its battery. The 2025 Kia EV6 comes standard with a 63kWh battery powering a rear-mounted electric motor that’s good for 167hp and 350Nm of torque. A larger 84kWh pack will be made available, and that should provide a driving range of about 513km.

The 2025 EV6 will made in five different variants with some coming with an e-AWD option. The top variant, which Kia calls ‘GT,’ drives like a completely different beast, producing 641hp and 770Nm of torque. The GT variant also gets the same ‘Virtual Gear Shift’ features from the Kia EV9 that should provide drivers with some more entertainment while they’re pushing all those horses.

Variants in between the standard and the GT provide varying performance levels and driving range, but the exact numbers on the latter have yet to be revealed.

The interior of the new EV6 also gets a refresh for 2025. A curved screen ties the interior together, while drivers will be manuevering with a newly designed D-shaped steering wheel. Kia also promises better software support with faster over-the-air updates to an already improved ADAS and parking assistant.

Pricing and global availability have also yet to revealed, but we can probably expect the 2025 Kia EV6 to sit alongside the Kia EV9 in local showrooms and dealers sometime next year.
