The Wuling Mini EV first caught our attention in late 2020. Its diminutive dimensions, adorable styling, and low price has helped the whole idea of mini electric vehicles in China and even has a bit of a cult following in its home market.

It has been such a success for the company that it has spawned several competitors. Some examples include the Jetour Ice Cream, the DSFK Candy, and Geely Panda EV. Sure, these things aren’t fast, but it’s interesting personal transport nonetheless.

But four years is a long time for these tiny EVs, and in the case of the Wuling Mini EV, it’s now time to grow up. That’s exactly what the Chinese automaker did by introducing the second-generation model.

Gone is the simple and boxy shape in this all-new model. It’s now been replaced with larger body, rounder panels, and even the option of five doors. In terms of dimensions, the 2025 Mini EV now measures 3,256 mm long. 1,510 mm wide, 1,578 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,190 mm.

In comparison, the outgoing model is 2,917 mm long, 1,493 mm wide, 1,621 mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 1,940. Quite the growth spurt, we say. Some may argue that it looks less cute than before, but the five-door option should expand its appeal.

Information is limited at the moment. However, Wuling says that it will have a more powerful motor across the lineup. The smaller battery pack options have been removed with all variants now using a 26 kWh battery from the get go. It’s good for 40hp and 110Nm of torque, it powers the rear wheels, and has a single-speed transmission. Range has yet to be revealed, but the previous model can get up to 280km on a single charge.

Pricing has yet to be determined, but it is estimated to start at 32,000 Yuan. Converted to local currency (sans taxes), it’s close to P255,000.
