“The Tumbler? Oh, you wouldn’t be interested in that.” Actually, Mr. Fox, we definitely, definitely would. In black, please.
Almost 20 years after the release of Batman Begins and in celebration of the 85th anniversary of possibly the most iconic vehicle in human history, Warner Bros. has released this limited-run Batmobile tantalizingly described as ‘fully functional.’ Oh boy.

Here’s what you need to know: The Wayne Enterprises Tumbler is powered by a 6.2-liter LS3 engine from GM, that comes up with 525hp and 659Nm of torque. The transmission is also from GM—a four-speed automatic 4L85E with paddle shifters.
However, it is unlikely to fit into a standard parking space, coming in at 4.65 meters long and 2.82 meters wide. And it’s not like you’ll be able to blast width restrictors out of the way, because the mounted gun turrets are imitation only.

Weighing in at 2,500kg, the Tumbler is built upon a tubular steel frame akin to those used in the aeronautics industry, along with other materials including kevlar, carbon fiber, and sheet metal fiberglass.
And it looks sensational, right? Not quite ready to stop the Joker, but it is still close enough to mimic the original that derived its angular design from old cars, boats, and planes.
Included are a set of 15-inch front tires and 18.5-inch rears with four-wheel power disc brakes. Somewhere on board is a smokescreen delivery system (useful for evading the criminals of Gotham), and a ‘jet engine simulation.’ No flames though, sadly.

Inside, the trim and the dash follow the design of the original car, with bespoke seating trim, black alcantara headlining, 10-inch digital screens, GPS, aircon, one-way mirrored glass (to keep your identity a secret), and a five-point racing harness. Because you’d definitely take this on a track day as it is not road-legal.
Only 10 Tumblers will be built, and if the order allocation hasn’t already been filled, then it surely will be soon. Even if the price is a cool $2,990,000 (P174 million).
