The latest edition of Germany’s definitive sports car is now in the Philippines. The 992.2 version of the Porsche 911 has made its local debut, and Porschephiles of the land can rejoice.
The 992.2 made its world premiere earlier this year. Locally, it’s the Carrera that’s on display, but there will be more models that will follow soon.

The new Carrera gets improvements in the engine department. Power is now at 394hp and 450Nm, up from 385hp although torque is retained. In terms of hardware, it’s still the familiar 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six. 0-100kph times are down to 3.9 seconds while top speed it rated at 294kph.
In terms of design, the changes are subtle but enough to get the attention of the brand’s hardcore fanatics. The redesigned front bumpers feature larger corner air intakes, plus the turn signals are now integrated into the headlights. The lower lip of the bumper has also been changed for enhanced aerodynamics.

At the back, the ‘case’ that covers the tail light’s LED piping is gone. The cluster itself has been updated to give it a lower, wider look. It’s also worth pointing out the repositioned license plate holder and the new diffuser.

Inside, the new 911 now gets a fully digital cockpit. For the first time in the 911’s history, the analog center tachometer is gone. A virtual version replaces it with the rest of the display similar to that to other Porsche models. The infotainment system has also been updated, and the classic ignition toggle makes way for a push-to-start button.
Other goodies? Of course, there’s Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) fitted standard that allows the dampers to adapt to various conditions. 14-way power seats for the front occupants are also included, as well as a 12-speaker Bose audio system.
