It’s been months since the all-new BMW X3 made its world premiere. We’ve driven it in its home country, and we called it a car with almost no vices. Fast forward to today and Munich’s best-selling crossover has finally made its way to Southeast Asia.
The fourth-generation BMW X3 made its regional debut in during the 2025 Singapore Motor Show. Two variants were shown there, namely the 20 xDrive and the high-performance M50 xDrive, both of which we’ve tried out already.

On display were the two design lines for the redesigned crossover, one in standard guise and another in M Sport Trim. The M50 gets styling touches unique to this model.
We’re certain that specs will differ by the time it lands in the Philippines. Over in Singapore, it’s expected to be fully equipped, just like the one we drove in Germany a few months back. It’s all up to local product planners how they’ll spec it here. We did like the vegan leather interior of the new X3, so perhaps that’s something worth considering for the local market.

Speaking of trims, the cabin is significantly different from the outgoing model. There’s not much in the way of buttons and most controls are in the infotainment menu. The classic iDrive scroll wheel remains, and the dashboard design follows a wraparound concept with the center stack tilted towards the driver. Just like any BMW should.
For powertrains, the gas-powered 20 xDrive makes 208hp and 330Nm. It then shifts with an eight-speed automatic and comes with all-wheel drive as standard. Jump to the M50 xDrive and its turbocharged inline-six punches out 398hp and 500Nm.
There’s no official launch date for the Philippines just yet, but given that it’s one of the top-selling BMW models in the country, we’re bound to get it sooner than later. Given the country’s appetite for anything diesel-powered, the 20d xDrive is a good bet.

But BMW Philippines could also do away with diesel and go for the xDrive 20 instead. If it were up to us, we’d like to see the 30e xDrive plug-in hybrid be offered here. Fingers crossed.
