Remember the pair of Bugatti Chiron units that were seized by the Bureau of Customs (BOC) earlier this year? If you do and happen to interested in them, now’s your chance.
That’s because the BOC is auctioning both cars in a public auction in a few days. Mind you, these won’t exactly be cheap. These are Bugattis after all.

Okay, so how much will these hypercars cost? For the blue Chiron, it has a floor price of P312,390,878 with a bond of P15,619,543.90. Yes, the P0.90 is crucial in this case. As for the red one, it starts at P334,238,820 with a bond of P16,711,941.
As it’s an auction, the prices you see here are bound to go even higher. That said, the P300+M floor prices for the pair should weed out any joy bidders. The same goes for the P15+M bond.
But if you are a billionaire and like a Bugatti Chiron, you can’t just walk into the BOC Port of Manila office and tell the customs officers ‘hey, I’d like to buy it.’ The BOC specifies interested bidders must have a ‘Certificate of Accreditation as Dealer of Motor Vehicles and/or their components issued by the Land Transportation Office.’

Of course, the auction has drummed up several amusing comments. Some of our favorites include ‘Swap sa Rusi,’ ‘May Home Credit?, ‘Mine,’ and ‘Pwede GCash?’
We’re genuinely curious if anyone will turn up in this auction given the prices. But perhaps it’s better than seeing these cars getting crushed by backhoes and bulldozers.
