BYD Cars Philippines and ACMobility have finally rolled out the 2027 BYD Atto 2 in the local market. While some might think this is long overdue, the brand and its distributor went a step further by launching two powertrain options for the subcompact crossover.
Buyers can choose between the plug-in hybrid Atto 2 DM-i and the fully electric Atto 2 EV. The former is available in two trims, while the latter is offered in a single Premium variant. And in this new stable, prices start at an eye-catching P998,000.

In terms of power, the Atto 2 DM-i is propelled mainly by a single electric motor and a 7.9kWh battery. It’s rated for 163hp and 300Nm of torque, with a 0-100kpn runtime of 9.1sec. There is then a 1.5-liter gasoline generator to provide extra grunt as well as to charge the battery pack and extend the crossover’s driving range.
Speaking of range, BYD claims that the Atto 2 can drive up to 45km on electric power alone and about 1,045km when combined with the engine.
As mentioned, the Atto 2 DM-i comes in two trims: the base-level Dynamic variant and the fully loaded Premium configuration. Those who opt for the Premium will get the DiPilot comprehensive suite of advanced driving aids, a 12.8-inch infotainment display, and a 360-camera system. At the same time, the Atto 2 DM-i Dynamic gets a more basic driving-assist package consisting of a rearview camera, four rear-mounted sensors, and non-adaptive cruise control.
Those ready to go fully electric with the Atto 2 EV Premium will get a setup similar to the fully loaded DM-i variant, but with leather upholstery, a two-tone cabin, and vehicle-to-load capability.
For performance, the electric Atto 2 is equipped with a front-mounted electric motor and a 45.1kWh battery
Power is rated at 175hp and 290Nm of torque, with a snappier 0-100kph sprint of 7.9sec.
Its driving range is advertised at 380km, and it should be able to charge from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes with a DC charger. A full zero-to-100 % charge with a standard AC outlet will take around 7.5 hours.
