BYD Cars Philippines has officially opened reservations for the upcoming all-new Atto 2 and new Seal 5 DM-i. The Atto 2 will come in three variants, including plug-in hybrid and fully electric versions, while the Seal 5 will have two plug-in hybrid variants.
For the Atto 2, the three local variants are DM-i Dynamic, DM-i Premium, and EV Premium. No official specs have been confirmed, but initial documents indicate that the two DM-i variants will share a 1.5-liter gasoline engine paired with a permanent-magnet synchronous motor.
The EV Premium differs visually from the DM-i with variant-specific designs for its front end and 16-inch wheels. Again, local specs have not been confirmed, but this is expected to have a single-motor setup with roughly 135hp and 290Nm. Homologation papers list range at 345km.

Meanwhile, the new Seal 5 DM-i will come in Essential and Dynamic variants. As with the previous version, both will share the same 1.5-liter gasoline engine paired with a permanent-magnet synchronous motor, but this updated model adopts the styling of the Seal EV as well as the newer offerings in the brand’s Ocean series.
Combined range hasn’t been officially published for the new local-spec Seal 5, but the outgoing generation achieved above 1,000km from a single tank and a fully charged battery, so we can probably expect the same with this model.
