The all-electric Cadillac Lyriq is getting a monster performance version, capable of covering the 0-97kph sprint in 3.3sec. Yep, the V-Series version of the SUV features V-mode, Velocity Max (read: Launch Control), and Competition Mode, which—when engaged—give you Caddy’s fastest model ever.

The Lyriq-V, as it’ll be known, not only uses some much-neglected letters from the back-end of the alphabet, but it also sports a 102kWh battery that powers a motor on each axle, giving a combined 606hp power output and generating 880Nm of torque. Welcome to BMW iX M60 territory. It also has an as-yet-unverified 459km of range.

Caddy has calibrated the damping control, suspension, and steering ratio accordingly to keep you firmly (and comfortably) in your seat. Adjustments include lowering the center of gravity, fitting Brembo performance brakes, and increasing the tire size to 22 inches.

Aesthetically, the V-Series logo has been slapped in various places to make sure folks know that your particular Lyriq is the especially powerful one. There are new wheels and the black painted roof comes as standard, though you can opt for a grey hue called Magnus Metal Frost—presumably named after Jack’s older brother.

Inside, the cabin has the same pano roof, 23-speaker AKG audio suite, 33-inch touchscreen, and access to a Super Cruise subscription and/or Onstar telematics as per the standard Lyriq. The V-Series variant will also get an augmented reality head-up display thrown in. And er, more V-Series logos etched and stitched into various components.

Cadillac also says there’s ‘a multi-layered, unique exterior and interior signature sound’ which appears to be some aural wizardry to give a more visceral connection with the car (or perhaps simply warn other road users of your presence).

Prices start from $80,000 (P4.659 million) with sales planned in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand for now. “Other global markets” are planned, but no word on whether it’s coming to Asia just yet.
