Contrary to what many of you might think, Changan was actually the first brand to bring in a electrified pickup in our market, albeit just a preview. The Chinese carmaker showcased what was then called the Hunter REEV at the 2024 Philippine International Motor Show.
Now, at the 2025 Manila International Auto Show, Changan has officially launched the new model dubbed the all-new Nevo Hunter K50. These Nevo-badged vehicles also bear the Changan 101 logo, an indicator of the brand’s mid-range EV line.
The Nevo Hunter K50 will go up against the Shark 6 DMO, a new plug-in hybrid electric pickup from BYD. Changan’s electrified pickup packs a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that powers the generator, which then powers the single or dual motors.

There are two variants available: the 4x2 Warrior and 4x4 Knight. The two-wheel-drive trim has a single motor that produces a 174hp and 320Nm of torque, while the four-wheel-drive has a dual-motor setup that has a combined total output of 268hp and 470Nm of torque. Pure electric range is pegged at 180km and can go up to 1,031km.
The inside of the cabin gets a good mix of leather and soft-touch materials with contrasting plastic trim. There’s a 7.5-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. There’s also an eight-speaker audio setup and a wireless charging pad. Safety features here include lane-departure warning and a 540-degree panoramic-view camera.
As for the pricing, the Hunter K50 REEV starts at an introductory price of P1.644 million for the 4x2 variant. The top-spec 4x4 goes for P1.88 million. These will only be available over the MIAS weekend until April 13, and after which the price tags will go up to P1.699 million and P1.97 million for the 4x2 and 4x4, respectively.
