The BYD eMax 7 has officially landed in the Philippines, as it just made its debut at the 2025 Manila International Auto Show.
Prices for the BYD’s MPV start at P1.498 million for the Standard cut, while the top-spec Superior Captain variant stickers for P1.798 million.
As the name suggests, the Superior Captain variant is configured as a six-seater vehicle, with two captain seats on the second row. The base variant is a more traditional MPV with a seven-passenger layout, although the differences do not end there.
Performance-wise, the Superior Captain variant packs a more powerful motor and a bigger battery than the base variant. While it’s still a single-motor, FWD system, the higher variant can run for 530km, 110km more than the base variant’s advertised driving range.

Inside the cabin, paying extra for the top-of-the-line eMax 7 gets owners a panoramic glass roof and ambient lighting. Second-row passengers also get ventilation on their captain seats. On the exterior, the tailgate gets a one-touch open/close mechanism and a roof rail.
Perhaps most importantly, aside from the second-row captain seats, the Superior Captain eMax 7 gets the full version of DiPilot—BYD’s advanced driver-assist system. While both variants have a 360-degree camera system and a four-sensor radar setup, the fully loaded eMax 7 features adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, an automatic emergency braking system, lane departure assist, and blind-spot detection.
Along with the camera and radar systems, the base eMax 7 also gets manual cruise control. We’ve seen this trend with many of BYD’s releases, wherein only the top-range variants get a full suite of safety features.

All purchases of the new eMax 7 from today until April 30 come with a P50,000 discount. Low down payment deals are also available at MIAS this weekend—the Standard can be had with a P48,000 DP, while the Superior Captain with a P68,000 DP.
