This year, Chevrolet went through a big shakeup as new management took over. Under its REWORK strategy, the American carmaker intends to reinvigorate the brand in the Philippines.

Part of that strategy is to revamp the local Chevy lineup. That continues today as Chevrolet Philippines officially launches the all-new Captiva. This also marks the nameplate’s official comeback in our market.

The all-new Captiva debuts with modern styling, with its front fascia adorned by a wide, gaping grille accentuated with a chrome trim and flanked by a pair of thin, swept-back headlights. Below you’ll find the foglamps housed inside black plastic trim that extends all the way to both sides.

The rear is less busier than the front, with only the small pair of taillights and the gold badge eating up real estate. The rear windshield is quite wide, though. Underneath, you get even more black plastic trim with a pair of fake exhaust tips that add contrast.

At the heart of the Captiva is a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that puts out 148hp and 255Nm of torque. This is mated to a continuously variable transmission that sends power to the front wheels.

The Captiva also gets a seven-inch digital instrument cluster paired with a 10.4-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity as standard. THe higher Premier trim gets added niceties like the power-adjustable driver’s seat, 360-degree-view monitor, automatic climate control, and panoramic sunroof.

As mentioned, there will be two variants for the Captiva. The price range starts at P1.258 million. You can check out the full price list below.
