Over the past few years, we’ve seen the arrival of one Chinese carmaker after another. For 2026, the first new brand to launch in our market is Denza.

To the unfamiliar, Denza is the premium brand under another well-known Chinese car manufacturer, BYD. Denza, however, will operate under BYD Philippines Corporation, not ACMobility’s BYD Cars Philippines. Confusing setups aside, the new brand has officially entered the Philippines with its first offering: the Denza D9.

This premium people-hauler will go up against the likes of the Toyota Alphard and even the Lexus LM. As with most of BYD’s offerings, this is electrified, and it features a range-extended hybrid DM-i powertrain with dual electric motors, boasting a maximum range of 980km.

The inside is as premium as advertised, with an abundance of Nappa leather on all three rows. There are screens and charging ports aplenty, with features like power adjustment and cooling on multiple seats. Speaking of seats, the second row has plush captain’s chairs with all the bells and whistles you can think of in a premium cabin.

The Denza D9 is now in the Philippines with a suggested retail price of P4.298 million. The first 300 customers, however, will get an exclusive P300,000 discount, bringing the introductory price down to P3.998 million.

Each D9 purchase comes with an eight-year or 150,000km battery warranty, whichever comes first. Each purchase comes with 24/7 roadside assistance, free three years of preventive maintenance services, and a free AC wall charger with a portable charger.
