The Denza Z9 GT has appeared on the Department of Energy’s list of recognized electric vehicles. Previewed at the brand’s Philippine debut back in February, the luxury performance wagon inches closer to a potential launch in the country.
The Z9 GT is hailed as the first export model to feature BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery. With this, it is also the first to be compatible with BYD Flash Chargers, capable of charging from 10% to 97% in just nine minutes. The four-door grand tourer features a 122kWh battery paired with three electric motors delivering 1,140hp and 1,150Nm of torque to all four wheels. It goes from 0 to 100kph in 2.7sec, while its range is measured at around 820km CLTC (China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle).
It has rear-wheel steering for stability at high speeds and maneuverability in tight situations. This will be extremely useful in the metro when you realize just how big this car is. This wagon measures 5,180mm long, 1,990mm wide, and 1,490mm tall, with a wheelbase of 3,125mm—that’s longer and wider than a Toyota Land Cruiser 300.

Other features include hill-descent control, a 360-degree-view monitor, massage seats for the driver and passengers, and a 17.3-inch touchscreen display with 4G network connectivity, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The car is stacked with other tech, but we’ll save final specifications for if and when the car gets here.
As for the price? In Europe, the fully electric Z9 GT starts at around €115,000 (P8,090,595). There’s no final price for a Philippine-market launch yet, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted if any updates come about.
