After a bit of a delay, The 2025 Geely Coolray has hit the Philippine market in all its facelifted glory. We got an extended preview of it back in April when we visited the Geely factory in China, but now the crossover is here and we have the full details.
While the most prominent changes are a sharper design and more modern tech, the new Coolray does also carry a beefier engine. But will it be worth the P1,199,000 price tag? Let’s find out.
For that price, you are getting a new 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that can pump out 172hp and 290Nm of torque. That power will be delivered via four drive modes: Eco, Comfort, Smart, and Sport. In that last mode, the engine should push this five-seater from 0-100kph in about 7.6sec. On the flipside, driving in Eco mode should consume about 17.24km/L.

While the facelifted Coolray features a sleek, elongated-looking profile, it still finds itself in the subcompact crossover range as it comes in at 4,380mm long, 1,810mm wide, and 1,615mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,600mm. It rides on 215/55 tires wrapped around 18-inch wheels, with subtle red calipers peeking through the spokes.
That lowkey red touch is hinted throughout the car, but most noticeably in the front profile and at the back. New LED headlamps sandwich the red accents that outline the new grille and bumper. Meanwhile, new LED taillights complement the red strokes on the rear air outlet.
The new Coolray also gets an update in the safety department led by a four-camera system that produces a 540-degree camera feed. Using this system, the Coolray now features an automatic parking-assist function and improved blind-spot detection.
In the cabin, drivers are treated to a new 10.25-inch digital dashboard, coupled with ambient lighting throughout the interior. The 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen now has Apple CarPlay, and a wireless charger is located just below it.
The new Coolray also gains a lot more personality with more color options. For the 2025 model, you can opt for Purple Prism, Blur Gray, Bolt White, Fireblast Red, and Voltaic Teal colorways.
