By now, you’ve heard that Geely International has officially taken over Geely Philippines’ operations. We could expect a new array of products coming soon, and it seems that the LTO might have hinted at one of those.
We had a poke around the latest Memorandum Circulars issued by the Land Transportation Office. There we saw the Radar RD6 right at the top of the list at the time of writing.

There have been a couple of mentions of the Radar RD6 on this website. It’s Geely’s take on a pickup truck, albeit with a twist. It uses a car-based chassis and it’s battery powered. A bold, if a little risky, move there.
More recently, it was confirmed that it will be offered in Southeast Asia. The first teaser was shown in Thailand and called the Riddara RD6 over there. Sales in Thailand will start in November, marking the first time it will be sold outside of China.

Now, the LTO has published its homologation papers online, hinting local sales. There are a few specs seen there, too. For instance, charging times are at 7 hours for alternating current (AC) and 1 hour for direct current (DC). The document also states a range of up to 410km and puts out 200kw. That’s 268hp in more familiar figures.
That hints that it’s the single motor version that has been approved for sale in the country. The range listed by the LTO also suggests that the Philippines could get the 63kWh battery pack with rear-wheel drive. Other specs of interest include 384Nm of torque, 221mm of ground clearance, and a payload capacity of around 790kg.

It’s worth pointing out that there have been a couple of sightings of the Geely Radar RD6 in the country. Could that have been one of the evaluation units for local homologation? Given the recent document, it’s possible.
