Despite not ever being officially sold in the country, GMC has some recognition here. Some might recognize the name Yukon or Yukon Denali, and this model sits in between the Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban and Cadillac Escalade.

Given that the newest versions Tahoe/Suburban and Escalade have been shown already, it’s now time for the GMC Yukon’s time to shine. It’s the last of the full-size GM trio to get updates, and it packs quite a lot.

For now, it’s the regular length Yukon that’s been revealed first. That said, expect the longer XL Yukon to have the same look. Two versions have been shown, namely the luxury-oriented Denali Ultimate and the off-road focused AT4 Ultimate.

But regardless of variant, GMC has given this SUV a major design overhaul at the front. There are new headlights, grille design, and bumpers for the 2025 model year. The Denali Ultimate gets an egg crate grille with illuminated badging, while the AT4 Ultimate comes with a unique front bumper design, a three-bar grille, and the classic red GMC typeface.

From the side, it looks similar to the Tahoe and Suburban, but that’s where the relation ends. Denali Ultimate and AT4 Ultimate models have their own color combinations, wheel designs, and trims. Meanwhile at the back, the styling updates aren’t as noticeable, although a strip of trim above the license plate holder is new and the C-shaped headlights give it more distinction over the Chevrolet models.

Rather than just slapping on the Tahoe’s dash and adding more leather in the Yukon, GMC gave its full-size SUV its own design. That means the Chevrolet, GMC, and Cadillac large SUVs all offer a different cabin experience. In the case of this model, it focuses more on tech.

The 2025 GMC Yukon features a large vertical tablet accompanied by a new digital cluster. With all those changes, the entire dash has been redesigned from end to end. No one will mistake this for a Chevrolet interior anymore.

Depending on the trim level chosen, there is seating for 7 or 8, a wide selection of interior color combinations, upgraded audio systems care of Bose, and even options for rear entertainment. Of course, there’s a barrage of exterior cameras available, and GM’s Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system can be specified on select variants. For those who want to splurge some more, a night vision camera can also be specified.

Engine options are the same as the ones found in the Tahoe in Suburban. The base engine is a 5.3-liter V8 with 355hp and 518Nm of torque. There’s also a 6.2-liter V8 that punches out 420hp and 623Nm of torque. For those watching their fuel consumption, a 3.0-liter diesel producing 305hp and 671Nm of torque is available.
