GWM or Great Wall Motor has a whole range of crossovers, pickups, and SUVs available. Locally, there are two crossovers and a pair of pickups available. These are the Haval H6, Haval Jolion, the Cannon SLux, and Cannon Pilot.
The models we received here are still fairly new. However, in China, it’s the flagship Haval H6 that is possibly getting a full model change soon. In its home market, GWM showed the Haval Xiaolong Max and it’s tipped to become the next-gen H6.

The Xiaolong Max is at the larger end of the compact crossover class. At over 4,750mm long, it’s only marginally smaller than midsize crossovers such as the Kia Sorento and Hyundai Santa Fe. The new crossover features a sharp front end with futuristic styling, accompanied by swoops and curves all over its body.
Inside, the occupants are greeted by a set of three screens at the front. One serves as the instrument cluster, the center is its infotainment system, while the third one sits in front of the passenger as an auxiliary screen.
There’s not much in the way of physical buttons inside, so it’s likely most basic controls are housed in the infotainment system. The interior appears to follow a ‘cab-forward’ approach that pushes the dashboard all the way forward to allow for more room inside.
In China, the sole powertrain option is a plug-in hybrid. It pairs a 1.5-liter Atkinson Cycle engine to a pair of electric motors to give it a combined output of 278hp and 585Nm of torque. Should it be badged as the GWM Haval H6, a hybrid option might be included down the line.
