The GWM Ora 5 has officially landed in Southeast Asia after debuting at the 2026 Bangkok International Motor Show. While we typically know the nameplate as a lineup of fully electric vehicles, GWM has now added a hybrid option to the Ora 5.
Specifically, the gasoline-hybrid powertrain is built around a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine and a single electric motor. It’s rated at 220hp and 476Nm of torque. The hybrid can reach over 1,000km on a single tank and can go from 0 to 100kph in 7.7sec.

On the other hand, the fully electric Ora 5 uses a 58.3kWh battery paired with an electric motor that produces 201hp and 260Nm of torque. It supports both AC and DC chargers and has a range of 502km from a full charge.

Both hybrid and fully electric models share a 14.6-inch touchscreen display that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a 10.25-inch digital screen for driver information. You also get Remote Vehicle Control through the GWM app, which allows you to remotely lock or unlock the doors and turn on the A/C to pre-cool the cabin. It also lets you check your car’s status and location.

The Ora 5 also benefits from Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which have features such as adaptive cruise control with intelligent cornering, front-collision warning, auto emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist, to name a few.
The GWM Ora 5 HEV in Thailand is priced at THB709,000 (P1.30 million) for the Pro variant and THB779,000 (P1.43 million) for the Ultra variant, which features additional ADAS features and equipment. Meanwhile, the Ora 5 EV has an estimated introductory price of TBH629,000 (P1.15 million) for the Pro and TBH699,000 (P1.28 million) for the Ultra.
