If you want a Hyundai Elantra right now, there’s only one way to get it. Your only choice is the hot Elantra N, a sport sedan that can give a number of similarly-priced sports cars a good scare. But what if that’s a little too, um, quick for you?
Well, not everyone wants a near-300hp sedan. There are those who’d like something a little more sensible. Right now, Hyundai Philippines doesn’t have one, but that might change soon.

Recently, the company rolled out a teaser for what it might launch at the Manila International Auto Show. In case you missed the headline, we reckon it’s the ‘normal’ Elantra.

So, why do we think it’s the case. Well, the tail light shown in the teaser was a pretty good hint. Just Google ‘Elantra 2025 rear’ and it all seems to line up. Secondly, the Hyundai Motor Philippines Facebook page showcased the Elantra as a ‘Heritage Model’ right before the teaser was shown. Coincidence? Maybe.
But what version could we get? The hybrid might be a good guess, given the company’s electrification push. If so, it’s a welcome addition to the lineup that includes the hybridized versions of the Tucson and Santa Fe. It’s also possible that we might get the turbocharged 1.6-liter in the N Line variant to go head to head with the Civic RS Turbo. For those curious, the hybrid makes 139hp and 265Nm, while the N-Line puts out 201hp and the same amount of torque as the electrified model.

So, what will it be? We’ll have to wait just a few days for the answer as all will be revealed at MIAS 2025.
