The facelifted Hyundai Stargazer has made its global debut, taking center stage at the 2025 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). There, it takes the name of ‘Stargazer Cartenz,’ looking to be a step above the Stargazer X.
Here in the Philippines, the Stargazer X is the top-spec MPV that buyers can purchase from Hyundai Motor Philippines. Lower and cheaper variants are available, but we wouldn’t be surprised if HMPH closed out 2025 by bringing in this new Stargazer. After all, the brand isn’t shy about variants, with the Elantra, Sante Fe, and Staria all available in five respective trims.

The new Stargazer has received an exterior overhaul. Its taller, more commanding fascia takes cues from the new Palisade and Creta, featuring a long light bar extending across the hood, which is then sandwiched between rectangular headlights. That angled motif continues throughout the grille, which is made up of several rectangles as well, as if the Stargazer X’s face were flattened and smoothed out. A new bumper that looks to be finished in brushed metal, then adds some rugged and tougher looks to the MPV.

Around back, it retains the H-shaped layout, albeit in a much more refined fashion. Once again taking cues from the Creta and Palisade, the lights have been slimmed down, and the Hyundai branding is much cleaner. A similar rear bumper then rounds out the rear.
The new Stargazer measures 4,575mm in length, or about 80mm longer than its previous generation. However, it retains the same wheelbase of 2,780mm, meaning those extra millimeters likely went towards a larger cargo area.

While the cabin space is likely the same, it features a more executive, seven-seater layout with captain seats on the second row. The cockpit has also been redesigned, with a sportier steering wheel and a new 10.25-inch infotainment screen.
Under the hood, the new Stargazer keeps the Smartstream G 1.5-liter engine, as on the previous generation. It’s then mated to Hyundai’s version of a CVT, its Intelligent Variable Transmission. However, it was also launched with a six-speed manual option.
