Well, this is a surprise. Hyundai Motor Philippines has brought in its full-size and fully electric SUV, the Ioniq 9. Looks like the Kia EV9 has some company and competition.

It debuted alongside the all-new Hyundai Palisade, another big vehicle from the Korean carmaker. The two SUVs will attempt to usher in a new trend of modern, stylish, and electrified mobility for Hyundai customers and their families.

The Ioniq 9 bolsters HMPH’s fully electric lineup, complementing the smaller 5 and 6 EVs. The facelifted Ioniq 5 was also brought out alongside the Ioniq 9 and the Palisade, giving Hyundai’s first EV in the market a breath of fresh air for 2026.

What are the specs of the Hyundai Ioniq 9?

As mentioned, the Ioniq 9 is advertised as a full-size SUV, measuring in at 5,060mm in length, 1,704mm in width, and 1,790mm in height, along with a wheelbase of 3,310mm. That wheelbase makes more than enough room for a six-seater cabin. The seats can even fold flat to create a lounge-type surface for the rear passengers.

The rest of the cabin is outfitted with a Bose sound system, an expansive panoramic sunroof, as well as 10 airbags for safety. Speaking of safety, the Ioniq 9 will also be packed with the latest version of Hyundai SmartSense, the brand’s ADAS suite. Those assists and functions will be communicated through the curved infotainment screen up front, as well as on the digital rearview and side mirrors.

However, with the seats folded, the Ioniq 9’s cargo capacity can expand to as wide as 1,323 liters. And riding on a traditional SUV frame, it should have a sturdy and rigid ride, whether full of cargo or people.

With these features, the Ioniq 9 shows off some exciting capacity as a road trip vehicle. Its large 110.3kWh battery should handle drives to Baguio with ease, advertising up to 600km in driving range. It even has V2L capabilities for your trips or minor power outages. The electric powertrain also does 304hp and 605Nm of torque.
