The all-new Isuzu Giga heavy-duty truck has just been revealed at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show. Isuzu promises that this next-generation Giga can hold a heavier payload capacity while sipping less fuel. The truck is also loaded with more advanced driver-assistance systems and network connectivity options, advertising safer rides for drivers and fleet operators.

Isuzu opened 2025 by celebrating its 25th year as the top truck brand in the Philippines. Commanding a strong 41% market share, it is highly likely that the new Giga will make its way to local businesses and Philippine roads.

The Japanese automaker also unveiled a new Vehicle Carbon-Control Concept that aims to reduce carbon emissions throughout a truck’s life cycle. Isuzu believes that through intensive monitoring and modular platforms, heavy-duty trucks and other commercial vehicles can significantly contribute to carbon neutrality.

However, the most important announcement to come out of the Isuzu booth is arguably the new multi-fuel engine. Capable of accepting biofuels and synthetic formulas, this new engine should be able to perform similarly across different octane levels and components. This should greatly simplify docking and refueling operations for commercial fleets.

Isuzu also believes that this type of powertrain can help businesses and fleet operators shift towards electrified engines and fully electric powerplants in their fleets.

It is still unclear when this engine will go into full production, but we can certainly expect cleaner and more efficient Isuzu trucks in the Philippines soon.
