2025 looks like it’s going to be a big year for JAC Philippines. With the new JAC T9 scheduled to hit local dealers between the second and third quarter of 2025, those in the market for a workhorse pickup will have another option to consider.
At the moment, the only JAC pickup available in the Philippines is the T8 Pro. A capable consumer pickup, its options are quite limited with only a 4x2 variant up for sale. There is an option for a manual or an automatic transmission though.

The JAC T9 will attempt to inject some life into the Chinese carmaker’s pickup ethos. This new model operates with a 4WD system and an automatic transmission with options for gasoline and diesel. Its profile looks classier than the T8 thanks to some chrome accents around the front and a completely redone grille—offering now more options in looks, and not just in powertrains.
The T9 also offers more premium-feeling leather seats in a bright orange color and an updated infotainment system, while essentially keeping the same interior layout as the T8. On the outside, it is slightly bigger than its predecessor, coming in at 5,330mm long, 1,920mm tall, and 1,965mm wide.

Being a 4WD pickup, JAC urges its potential drivers to take it overland and push its capabilities to the limit. Creating 150hp and 380Nm of torque, along with some off-road tires (265/60 R18 in size), the JAC T9 looks like a capable camping pickup.
In our experience, it handles going up and driving down steep mounds rather smoothly, and has the capacity to be a conservative floodbuster.

Tucked away behind the fully spec’d-out T9 at Auto Guangzhou 2024 was a curious moss green-colored pickup. Turns out it was the fully-electric JAC T9 with an 88kWh battery. Sporting dual motors for an all-wheel-drive system, the electric T9 boasts a 505km driving range.
It’s yet to be confirmed if the electric T9 will join the gas-powered pickups in 2025, but that would add some serious local variability in JAC’s lineup and the pickup market entirely.
