Kia is readying a small electric car to slide underneath the EV3 in its lineup, and—surprise, surprise—it’s called the Kia EV2. We don’t know exactly how small it will be, only that it’s described as ‘compact.’
Also, it’ll be a concept because Kia is calling it the Concept EV2. It will be unveiled at Kia EV Day, where Kia will unveil other new electric vehicles. The event will be hosted in Spain as a signal for the Korean carmaker’s future product plans.

Because it’s a concept and February 27 is still days away, we’ve only got these teaser images to work with. The EV2, along with the EV4 and the PV5, will deploy the company’s ‘Opposites United’ design language and Kia’s latest electric platform tech.

“Obviously, the small car segments are very important for the European market because of the densely populated cities and the challenges with parking,” David Hilbert, Kia’s European marketing director, told us last year. “So that’s why EV2 is going to be an important car for us in the future, and I guess it will be the entry point to our dedicated EV lineup.”

Can’t wait to see that EV4, though. The avant-garde take on the EV3 will make its big, fancy global debut, and Hilbert promised it’ll stay true to the original concept: “For EV4, read between the lines in terms of EV9 and EV3 concepts to production.”
Ditto regarding the PV5 electric van, which sits on a dedicated electric skateboard architecture and will underpin other van-shaped Kia vehicles for handling business. More on these new models as details come in.
