The all-new Kia EV4 has been making quite a name for itself overseas. Earlier this year at the Brussels Motor Show, a performance-oriented GT variant was unveiled—loaded with a dual-motor AWD system and 288hp.
Now, the electric hatchback has received a five-star safety rating from the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP). The recent certification applies to all configurations of the EV4, including the aforementioned GT and its other sedan variants.

According to the report, the EV4 stood out in child occupant protection with an 86% score. It also marked a close 84% in adult occupant protection. These were achieved through front and side crash tests, which resulted in relatively minimal damage to the onboard dummies.

Other scores included 81% in safety assists and 77% in vulnerable road user protection. The former evaluates Kia’s suite of advanced driver-assistance systems, while the latter tests the car’s awareness and possible impact on pedestrians and cyclists. Notably, 77% was the lowest mark in the EV4’s entire testing, rounding out the five-star rating.
The EV4 will have this certification until 2031, and we wouldn’t be surprised if it landed on Philippine roads way before then, as Kia Philippines has been progressively building its electric stable with the EV6 and EV9 as its flagship vehicles. With the 2026 Philippine International Motor Show scheduled later this year, the Korean carmaker could debut even more EVs in the local market.
