A week after hinting at the name of its upcoming midsize pickup, Kia is back with another teaser, this time for its all-new compact sedan. This is the 2024 Kia K4, and here we have some shadowy images to squint at ahead of the full model reveal on March 21st.
The rear half of the profile is quite a unique execution, isn’t it? The glasshouse terminates against the rear pillar at a right angle, and as if that part of the car doesn’t have enough going on already, it houses the rear door handle, too. The silhouette is almost fastback-like, the slope of the rear roofline not quite flattening out as it reaches the edge of the trunk lid. Front and rear, the lighting elements extend to the side of the car and drop downward into vertical strips.

At least in these dark images, a glass-looking portion of the roof appears like it’s a single unit with the windshield. In contrast to the sleek rear end, the front looks more muscular. We’ll know more about what’s under the hood in a few days’ time, but given Kia’s naming convention, the K4 isn’t likely to have a fully-electric version.

Currently, the Soluto is the lone sedan in Kia’s local lineup. Even sister brand Hyundai hasn’t brought the latest Accent or Elantra to our shores, the current distributor instead opting to focus on crossovers, people movers, and EVs. Do you think Kia should take a chance with the K4 in the local market?
