The relaunch of Kia Philippines has been nothing short of swift. Ever since the Ayala Group took over the official local distributorship, the Korean brand has been aggressive in its efforts to penetrate the car-buying market.

Now, it has revealed perhaps its most exciting offering in the country to date: the Stinger. We were able to get hold of a few images teasing the model’s immiment arrival last week. Well, it’s now finally here in the metal at the 2019 Manila International Auto Show.

The overall styling mixes some sporty elements with classy ones, and it’s a combination you don’t often see in our market. Engine options for the Stinger in the US include a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 with 365hp, and a 2.0-liter turbo with 255hp. All-wheel drive is an option in that market. Kia hasn’t revealed a local price for the Stinger yet, but according to a salesperson on the show floor, it’s expected to retail at P3,235,000.
