The relaunch of Kia Philippines has been nothing short of swift. Ever since the Ayala Group took over the official local distributorship, the Korean brand has been aggressive in its efforts to penetrate the car-buying market.
Now, it has revealed perhaps its most exciting offering in the country to date: the Stinger. We were able to get hold of a few images teasing the model’s
Its long body hints at its grand-touring purpose, as does its fastback design. The overall styling mixes some sporty elements with classy ones, and it’s a combination you don’t often see in our market. The front end has Kia’s signature tiger-nose grille, flanked by swept-back headlights. Lines along the sides and the hood provide an aerodynamic look. Rounding out the exterior are thin, strip-style lights in the rear.
Engine options for the Stinger in the US include a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 with 365hp, and a 2.0-liter turbo with 255hp. All-wheel drive is an option in that market. Kia hasn’t revealed a local price for the Stinger yet, but according to a salesperson on the show floor, it’s expected to retail at P3,235,000.
