Kia has showcased the Vision Meta Turismo at the 2026 Busan International Mobility Show (BIMOS). The concept grand tourer features a futuristic design with winglet-style headlights and a technology-rich cabin.
Its main highlight is how it “transforms time on the move into moments of meaningful experiences.” What exactly does that mean? The car has three driving modes: Speedster, Dreamer, and Gamer. Each switches up the driver’s experience through the cabin’s augmented-reality (AR) head-up display.

Speedster mode uses the wide-angle AR display to “distort the surrounding space as speed intensifies,” accompanied by dynamic sequential lighting and sound effects. Meanwhile, for chill driving and heavy traffic, Dreamer mode uses the AR display and AR glasses to add virtual layers over the surrounding urban environment.

Lastly, Gamer mode can be activated when the car is parked. It features virtual racing using the AR display and steering wheel, sort of like a simulator built into the actual car. It also has an exterior projector for group gaming sessions. These modes can be utilized by the driver and passengers using Add-Gear, a modular device with various controls for audio, smart displays, and gaming.

The whole gamification idea is apparent from just looking at the car’s interior. The cabin has a joystick-like virtual gear shifter that “recreates the feeling of changing gears to intensify the driving experience.” It also has a gaming-controller-inspired steering wheel and even a ‘GT Boost’ button that delivers an instant jump in acceleration.
While the entire concept of this car may not appeal to traditional driving enthusiasts, Kia has a vision, and we’ll be anticipating its developments before we risk judging it too early. What are your initial thoughts on this technology? Does it keep the driver more engaged or more detached from the journey? Let us know in the comments.
