The Defender has been a runaway success for the brand since its launch in 2020. So much so that it’s practically evaporated Discovery sales. That aside, it helps that there’s a variety of body styles available, namely the short wheelbase 90, midsize 110, and extended length 130.

Speaking of the 130, Land Rover Philippines has silently introduced a new variant of the stretched Defender. It’s the Defender 130 X P400, and it gets a plusher cabin in the form of captain’s chairs in the second row. And since it’s the longer version, there’s bags of legroom for, well, everyone on board.
Of course, it’s loaded with luxuries on board. There’s acres of leather in there, along with suede finishes and other rich-feeling textures. The captain’s chairs are power operated, because it takes too much effort to pull levers, right? The dual sunroof lets more light into the cabin, and everyone on board can enjoy the Meridian surround sound system.
With the P400 badge, this Defender is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine. It boasts mild-hybrid tech, along with 395hp and 550Nm that’s channeled through a permanent four-wheel drive system. It then rides on air suspension and benefits from Land Rover’s clever Terrain Response 2 system.
As for price, this variant of the Land Rover Defender can be yours for a cool P17,790,000. At that price, would you dare take it off road and scuff up that precious paintwork? We would, and we’ll applaud future owners who’d actually take it on the trails.
