Just months after its global debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the all-new, fourth-generation Mazda 3 has inched its way ever closer us. The new compact sedan just made its regional debut at the 2019 Singapore Motorshow this week.
However, this is just its debut—the unit shown here isn’t the final production version that will be sold in Singapore. It was flown in from the US specifically for the show. The SG-spec version will be officially launched in the Lion City later on in the year. Still, this is a good sign of things to come for the rest of Southeast Asia.
In terms of looks, the all-new 3 showcases the latest evolution of Mazda’s design language, which makes the body appear as seamless and crease-free as possible. The minimalist approach applies to the cabin as well. In the US, engine options include 2.0- and 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G units, a 1.8-liter SkyActiv-D, and of course, the much-awaited SkyActiv-X.
