It looks like we don’t have to wait too long for Mazda to come out with the production version of its Hazumi concept following its Geneva Motor Show debut. The Japanese carmaker has announced that it has started production of the all-new 2 at its Hofu plant in Japan.
Following the CX-5, the 6 and the 3, the all-new 2 (known as Demio in Japan) is the fourth model to adopt Mazda's full range of Skyactiv technologies and sport its Kodo "Soul of Motion" design language.
The all-new 2 is available with either a 1.5-liter Skyactiv-D clean diesel engine that produces torque “comparable to a 2.5-liter gasoline engine,” or two high-efficiency 1.5- and 1.3-liter Skyactiv-G direct-injection gasoline engines.
The all-new Mazda 2 "will be rolled out in global markets starting from Japan this autumn."
Do you think the all-new Mazda 2 will find its way locally before the end of the year, or even just in time for the Philippine International Motor Show in September care of authorized local distributor Berjaya Auto Philippines?
