The milestone car—which comes in a vibrant ‘Racing Orange’ paint finish—is as neat as Miatas come, and packs a 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G engine capable of 181hp and 205Nm of torque. Only 3,000 units are being produced, and 500 of these have already been allocated to the US market.
Mazda has given its roadster the works for this celebration: Rays ZE40 17-inch Dark Gunmetal alloy wheels (based on the Global MX-5 Cup Car’s rims), Recaro sports seats, orange cabin trim to match the exterior, orange Brembo (front) and Nissin (rear) brake calipers, and of course, some special 30th Anniversary Edition badging.
Also, the car will be produced in both soft-top and hardtop RF form, and will be available with a manual transmission option (these units get Bilstein dampers).
The best part? It’s coming to the Philippines.
Yes, Mazda MX-5 30th Anniversary Edition units have already been reserved for the Philippine market—albeit only in RF form, but with both manual and automatic gearbox options available. Mazda Philippines has already confirmed this.
“We have confirmed allocation but the exact arrival is to be determined. Only the RF will be available in both MT and AT. Exact number has yet to be finalized from the limited 3,000 units for global production,” said Mazda Philippines president and CEO Steven Tan.
Obviously, the price tag has yet to be determined, too. But rest assured this car is coming.
