Wasn’t it just last month when Mazda updated the 3? Well, it looks like the Hiroshima-based carmaker is on a roll, this time as it reveals an improved Mazda 6.

Fans who love the swoopy Kodo lines (just like us) need not worry as Mazda hasn’t altered this one bit. The biggest change is in the cabin. The steering wheel now has a smaller center pad and a revised switch arrangement. It also comes with satin plating for a more premium feel. Speaking of upscale touches, Mazda is offering real nappa leather on seat surfaces, clad in either black or almond. This nicely complements the black ceiling and the pillars for a truly expensive feeling ride.

Aside from improving material quality, Mazda has put in place a new full-color Active Driving Display. This helps drivers stay in control while reducing stress on the eyes. Moreover, the angle and brightness of the said display is now included in the memory settings programmed into the driver’s seat. And LED dome lights are now part of the package for an even more relaxing ambience.

As we all know, any Mazda vehicle experience is really about the drive. And this is why the carmaker has put in place new technologies to further enhance this. G-Vectoring Control, first seen on the 3, naturally makes its way to the larger sedan. This cool piece of kit essentially controls engine response based on steering wheel inputs. It is poised to provide a more natural driving feel, akin to the movements of the human body.

And what would a Mazda update be without additional safety gear? The milliwave radar and camera-based i-ActiveSense systems feature goodies such as traffic sign recognition, active brake support, advanced blind spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, lane keep assist, radar cruise control, and high-beam control among many others. In short, each of these functions to aid the driver and keep him out of harm’s way.

Now that both Mazda 3 and 6 updates have been revealed, all we can do is wait for them to grace our market.
