MG appears set to add yet another electric vehicle in its portfolio. The British-Chinese automaker recently released a teaser of its upcoming model and has been described as an ‘intelligent CUV (Crossover Utility Vehicle).’

The first market that will get it is India and is expected to be launched there soon. There is no exact date yet, but the recent teasers suggest that it could be any time this month.

That said, the yet-to-be-named MG crossover isn’t a full MG-engineered model, at least, that’s what it seems. A closer look at its headlights and LED daytime running light strip shows a striking resemblance to the Baojun Cloud.

See, Baojun is one of the many brands under SAIC’s wing, the mother company that also owns MG. Mind you, the Cloud isn’t the first Baojun product to get an MG badge. Another model called the Baojun 530 is dubbed the Hector once it’s wearing an MG badge on its grille and tailgate.

The Cloud was introduced in China in 2023 and is called the Yunduo in its home market. Considered as an entry-level EV, it carries a 50.6kWh battery and a single electric motor. That motor is good for 134hp and 200Nm of torque.

The Cloud should be an interesting addition in MG’s lineup in Southeast Asia. If anything, it’s already in the region wearing a Wuling badge over in Indonesia. It could be said that it has potential in countries where MG is sold. The odds of it coming to the Philippines are a bit of a mixed bag, but given MG Philippines’ electrification push, there might be a chance.
