While it’s the ZS that serves as the moneymaker for MG in the Philippines, there are several other models that are worth your attention. One of them is the MG GT sedan. The swoopy looking four-door has been around for a few years locally, and there are a couple to be seen on the road.
But the British-Chinese automaker reckons it’s now time to give this model a bit of an update. Recently, MG has shown first official photos of the facelifted GT, along with a couple of specs and details.

Dubbed the MG5 in China, the 2025 GT gets a heavily restyled front end, among other things. The new look is now in line with the rest of the MG lineup with its tweaked upswept headlights, wide grille, and prominent corners on the bumper. Also noticeable is the relocation of the MG badge, as well as the two creases on the hood.
Over at the back, there are far more significant changes. MG went through the effort of giving this sedan a pair of new tail lights that look nothing like the current model. That means its quarter panel and trunklid have been reshaped to accommodate these changes.

Inside, the dashboard has been given a complete overhaul. It’s a simpler, cleaner look for the 2025 MG GT with a smoother look for the dash. The car also gets a totally redesigned digital instrument cluster, along with a larger 12.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The door panels have been changed, while the air-con vents sport a diamond pattern.
Carried over from the present version are the engines. It’s still the same 1.5-liter CVT and 1.5-liter turbo DCT options. The non-turbocharged model still makes 111hp and 150Nm of torque, while the boosted engine puts out 159hp and 250Nm of torque.
