MG is on a bit of a spree of new car launches this year. There’s the production version of the Cyberster, the low-slung MG7 four-door coupe, and the budget-friendly MG3. More recently, the British-Chinese automaker also premiered the all-new HS.

But new car spree doesn’t end there. Soon, we are set to see the next-generation MG ZS. The company has released a couple of teaser photos, and even revealed one of its powertrain options.

Like the HS, the 2025 ZS features MG’s latest design philosophy. There are sharp looking headlights at the front, along with a wide grille that spans nearly the entire width of the bumper. It also appears more rakish and sportier than the current model, while the rear boasts more curves and creases than ever.

Next-gen MG ZS Patent Photo

If anything, the teaser photo somewhat confirms the patent photos that surfaced online a few months ago. The lights, bumpers, and door match up, as well as the details at the rear. Of course, there still might be a few differences between those images and the real deal. From what we see so far, it looks like a massive departure from the current model.

There are no interior photos at the moment, but we can expect MG to give a teaser of that down the line. Instead of showing the inside, the company showed off one of the available powertrain options for its subcompact crossover.

In case you missed the plate attached to it, the 2025 MG ZS can be specified with a hybrid system. Specs and details weren’t given, but it’s possible that we could see the MG3 hybrid’s gas-electric combo to be applied on this model too. If so, we might see around 187hp and its electric motor churning out 250Nm of torque. Non-turbo and turbocharged engines are to be expected, depending on the market.

We’ll find out and get a better picture of the all-new ZS once it’s launched. The wait won’t be that long, either, as its world premiere is locked in on August 28.
