It was a huge deal when the Mitsubishi DST Concept made its world premiere at last year’s Philippine International Auto Show (PIMS). It was the first for the local industry, and shows the brand’s commitment to Southeast Asian markets.
A couple of months have passed since, and it looks like the production model is just about ready to show itself. During the press conference for the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), Mitsubishi announced that it will be launching a new model over there.

Based on the company’s mid-term timeline, the road version of the DST is next in line for its world debut. It has since been speculated that it will be called the Destinator. That was based on several reports citing the trademark registered a few months ago. DST equals Destinator?

There’s a little more information, too. Per Indonesian automotive publication, Otodriver, the slogan is ‘Ready to uncover your next destination’ (translated from Bahasa). Maybe they will really call it Destinator, which is a break from the ‘X’ models from Mitsubishi.
On top of that, it was reported that the production DST will have around four variants, and that it will use a 1.5-liter engine. The likeliest candidate is the unit found in the Xpander, Xpander Cross, and XForce. If so, we’re expecting 103hp and 141Nm to power the front wheels. A hybrid is possible given that the XForce and Xpander have electrified versions.

The Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show will open its doors to the public on July 24, 2025. But before that, we might see a couple of teasers before the full reveal.
