While it doesn’t have a production version name yet, the Mitsubishi DST is already stirring up some buzz. After the concept was shown during last year’s Philippine International Motor Show, the showroom version is all set for its world premiere this year.

As it turns out, we might not to have to wait that long for road-going model’s world premiere. Atsushi Kurita, the president director of PT MMKSI (Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia) said that this model will make its debut in Indonesia soon.

Kurita didn’t mention specifics just yet, but there’s a good chance it might be shown at the 2025 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show or GIIAS. That exhibition will take place on July 24, 2025 and run all the way round August 3, 2025. Those in Indonesia will have plenty of time to take at look at it.

But aside from the announcement, there’s other big news over in Indonesia. Government files over there have revealed four possible variants for the DST. These were listed as LM, LH, LP, and LP Plus. The LM appears to serve as the entry-level model, the LH as the mid, while the LP and LP Plus are at the top.

Also shown was a 1.5 tag on each of the variants, suggesting that this model will use a 1.5-liter engine. It will likely be carried over from the Xpander and XForce. If so, we’re expecting at least 103hp and 141Nm. There’s no mention of a hybrid yet, but there’s a strong possibility of that happening down the line.

Think of this then as an expanded (Xpanded?) XForce, then. And given the size of the concept shown last year, it might be close in size to the likes of the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4. An Outlander of sorts? Maybe, but we’ll find out more once the production Mitsubishi DST finally reveals itself.
