The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is finally here. Previewed at the 2026 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), the Outlander is the Japanese automaker throwing its hat in the ring, or rather, the sea of electrified SUVs in the country.
The Outlander looks like a cross between the Xpander and the Montero Sport. It features Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield design and sits planted with an athletic stance. It features a plug-in hybrid system comprised of a 2.4-liter gasoline engine paired with dual electric motors delivering a combined output of 302hp and 450Nm of torque to all four wheels.

Mitsubishi’s Super All-Wheel Control helps the Outlander deliver maximum stability across various terrains. It has seven drive modes, including Eco, Normal, Tarmac, Snow, Mud, Gravel, and Power—each delivering their own unique functions for different use cases. Aside from these modes, the Oulander also has a full-EV mode, which is capable of 100km of electric driving.

Inside the cabin, the Outlander boasts a host of comfort and infotainment features. It has 10-way adjustable power seats with memory functions, tri-zone climate control, an eight-speaker sound system by Yamaha, a 12-inch touchscreen, and a 12-inch instrument panel with heads-up display. The cabin also features leather seats and soft-touch materials all around.
The Outlander PHEV is scheduled to launch in August this year. Until then, if you want to see this crossover SUV in the metal, it will be at PIMS 2026 at the World Trade Center from June 4-7. What do you think of Mitsubishi’s latest electrified offering?
