There’s no shortage of beefed-up pickup trucks in the aftermarket scene. It’s now reached a point wherein the manufacturers are getting in on the act, too. There’s the Ford Ranger Raptor, Nissan Navara Warrior, and more recently, the Toyota Hilux GR-S.
However, Mitsubishi seems to be absent from that scene. The brand wants to rectify that by showing a more extreme concept of the Mitsubishi Triton pickup. Dubbed the Snow Shredder, it was displayed during the recent 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon.

It’s a concept for now, and it doesn’t seem likely that Mitsubishi will put in everything you see here for production. That said, it does show the aftermarket potential of the all-new pickup.
At the front, there’s a chunky steel bumper with a built-in winch, while the lights and grille get a smoked treatment. It also has a snorkel bolted on the fender, a must-have in practically every off-roader build. In case you haven’t noticed, it’s a few inches higher off the ground, too.

Why, you ask? That’s to make way for the sizable snow terrain tires fitted to this concept vehicle. All-terrain or mud terrain tires would be nice too, but then again, it’s called the Snow Shredder.
Other mods include a custom paint job, a roof rack, and an external spare tire carrier. Meanwhile, the bed gets a rack that runs its length to allow for greater versatility. It holds equipment such as traction boards, jerry cans, snowboards, and an awning.

Again, we’re not expecting the Snow Shredder for production. However, there is a chance that some of the parts fitted to it will be available as accessories. We’re particularly interested in the bed rack and it would be great to see that as an option.
So for those who have put down a reservation for a Mitsubishi Triton and looking for inspiration for a build, the Snow Shredder might be a good place to start. There may not be winter here, but it’s a cool way to dress up the truck.
