Think it looks familiar? That’s because it’s a rebadge of the Nissan Urvan

The all-new generation of the van that a lot of us have ridden at some point in our lives is back. This is the 2026 Mitsubishi Versa Van, and it returns to the Philippine market as a 15-seater priced at P1,649,000.

Instead of using the L300 as a base, however, this new iteration is a rebadge of the Nissan Urvan, which explains why you don’t see any Mitsubishi styling cues. At launch, the lone variant available is the GLX with the aforementioned 15-seater (including the driver) capacity. The two color options for the exterior are Silver Metallic and White Solid.

The engine is exactly the same as that of its Nissan twin: a 2.5-liter turbodiesel engine that puts out 127hp at 3,200rpm and 356Nm at 1,400-2,000rpm via a five-speed manual transmission. The fuel tank capacity is 65 liters, allowing this people-mover to cover long distances, whether as a school bus, company shuttle, or other transport service.

The passenger cabin contains four rows of seating, with foldable outboard seats for quicker access to the rear of the van. Each row features ceiling-mounted A/C vents to help keep passengers cool wherever they are seated. Meanwhile, the cargo area now has a larger opening for easier loading and unloading of items.

The front cabin is understandably spartan to suit the vehicle’s utilitarian nature. There’s a single-DIN head unit, and the gearshift is mounted on the console beside the A/C controls, freeing up space for a middle passenger. Other modern upgrades include airbags for the driver and the front passenger, and Mitsubishi says key maintenance components are placed for easy maintenance access.

In 2025, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines sold 86,808 vehicles. Its bestseller was the Xpander with 28,081 units, followed by the Mirage G4 with 17,757 units, then the L300 with 14,938 units. This shows the brand’s appeal to customers looking for people carriers and transport units—a market that the revived Versa Van can cater to as well. Let’s see how it adds to Mitsubishi’s local sales over the next few months.
