As Bentley winds down production of the Mk3 Continental GT—with W12 power also making a dignified exit stage left—it has now given us a first glance at the new fourth-generation Conti. Ooh.

As we know it’ll be a hybrid from the off, with a refreshed V8 and electric motor together producing... 771hp and 998Nm. Yowzers. And no, you’re not wrong: the new Continental GT will be the most powerful Bentley ever.

And also the most sustainable, argues Bentley, with a battery of as yet unknown size providing around 80km of pure electric wafting. But Bentley hasn’t just reworked the powertrain for greener travel (less than 50g/km of CO2, apparently), but it’s also going to underpin it with an all-new chassis, active all-wheel drive, four-wheel steering and dual-valve dampers. All this means the new car should be about as comfortable as His Majesty’s own memory foam mattress.

The mechanical toy box isn’t done there either, with torque vectoring and an electronic differential working alongside advanced anti-roll technology to keep the Continental GT squat and true at speed.

Judging by the camo shots, it looks… like a Bentley Continental GT. But there are a few changes worth noting. Namely, the previous two-sphere headlight cluster seems to have been ditched in favor of a single unit with what appear to be wings extending out from them.

Meanwhile the air inlets underneath has visibly changed shape, and there’s now a lower lip which runs the length of the bumper.

Out back, the exposed quad tailpipes are gone, and in their place sit two larger exits on either side. The rear bumper has also been given a bit more profiling than its predecessor. All looks... more muscular, no?

More details will be revealed next month when the covers ’n’ camo are pulled off the car properly. Thoughts on this first teaser, folks?
