The recently launched Japan-exclusive Nissan Elgrand focuses on providing a premium traveling experience with a cushioned ride and dignified aesthetics. But for those who want a bit of sporty edge for their minivans, Nissan Motorsports & Customizing (NMC) has you covered with this Autech version.
Just like the previous-generation Autech Elgrand, NMC skipped the performance tweaks and focused entirely on accessories that add visual flair. The company shares that the customization package celebrates the sea and sky of the Shonan coast that passes through NMC’s hometown of Chigasaki in the Kanagawa Prefecture. The blue finish pictured here is aptly named Deep Ocean Blue/Midnight Black, and is an exclusive color option for the Autech model.

The woodwork-inspired front fascia has been swapped out for a more aggressive grille design complemented by LEDs that NMC says evokes imagery of a shimmering ocean surface. The metallic silver accent pieces at the bottom edge of the Elgrand are also meant to represent the foamy wake of a boat cutting through water. Eighteen-inch wheels round out the exterior package, featuring an exclusive multi-spoke design.

The interior is predominantly black, accented by the Autech brand’s signature blue. The seats (upholstered with napa leather) and the door trim also feature a wave-like embroidery pattern in keeping with the ocean theme. The Autech Elgrand’s price tag sits at ¥8,247,800 (approximately P3,130,000 before taxes), which substantially higher than the range-topping variant of the stock Nissan model.

NMC also offers other tweaked Elgrand models. The Autech Line is a subtler customization package for those who don’t vibe with the more dramatic visuals of the Autech, while the VIP offers a blacked-out look as well as an automatic stepboard for easier ingress and egress. This stepboard can also be added to the other NMC-customized Elgrands.
As with specialty and custom models from Japan, it’s even more unlikely that the Autech Elgrand will make its way to the Philippines. That said, are you a fan of the edgy new look? Or do you prefer the more mature vibe of the original model? Let us know in the comments.
