After years of speculation, Nissan Philippines has finally brought back the X-Trail. The crossover made its formal return at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show, debuting with a hybrid e-Power system and a P2.29 million price tag.
That single powertrain and price confirm that Nissan will only offer the X-Trail in a lone variant. It is rather well-equipped, with basic driving aids (cruise control, blind-spot detection, collision warnings, etc) and a decently premium cabin. There is no Nissan ProPilot onboard, but there are a few more creature comforts to make up for it.

Second-row passengers get sunshades, while the tailgate is fully powered. There are also enough USB ports to go around, as well as separate climate controls for the front and rear passengers.

In terms of performance, the hybrid system is built around a 1.5-liter engine and a 1.84kWh battery, powering a single front-mounted electric motor. Overall, it is rated for 201hp and 330Nm of torque, and Nissan says motorists can expect up to 1,000km of driving on a full tank of gas.

There are also full EV and e-Pedal driving modes for more efficient motoring. The latter increases the regenerative braking power on the X-Trail and essentially turns into a one-pedal driving setting. This is most commonly seen in full EVs, and it’ll be interesting to test in Metro Manila traffic.
If anyone is confused as to why this new SUV does not look like the 2026 T34 X-Trail, that is because this is still the T33 model. While it is technically all-new for the Philippines, the platform actually debuted back in 2021, with the most recent facelift released in 2025. That is the model we have here today.

Interested buyers can choose between Sahara Dune Metallic, Cardinal Red Metallic, Everest White, and Stealthy Pearl Gray finishes. However, the latter two will require an extra P20,000 premium. Nissan is also rolling out special launch edition colorways that pair Everest White, Stealth Pearl Gray, and Sahara Dune Metallic with a black roof. These are limited to 100 units and will also incur additional costs.
Those higher prices can be remedied through the brand’s exclusive PIMS offer that takes P20,000 off the sticker price and adds a year’s worth of Protect+. How does the new X-Trail sound so far?
