The Rimac Nevera R has set a new 0-400-0kph record, overtaking Koenigsegg

It is one, mean quad-motor EV

Forget Wimbledon, because Rimac and Koenigsegg are playing an extremely high-profile game of doubles that’s both extremely fast and, admittedly, extremely lengthy.

Rimac has smashed the latest volley, because its Nevera R has managed 0-400-0kph in 25.79sec. That’s 2.04sec quicker than what Koenigsegg managed last year in the Jesko Absolut. The Jesko bettered its Regera sibling’s time of 28.81sec, which was faster than the original Nevera’s time of 29.93sec. Might need a neck massage after all this.

Ditto the driver of the Nevera R, because along with blazing past Koenigsegg’s record, Rimac chalked off 23 more records, going faster in every metric it famously smashed through back in 2023.

So, put down the popcorn and take a deep breath: The Nevera R did 0-96kph in 1.66sec (vs 1.74sec back in 2023), 0-100kph in 1.72sec (0.09sec quicker), 0-161kph in 2.96sec (-0.25sec), 0-200kph in 3.95sec (-0.47sec), 0-300kph in 7.89sec (-1.33sec), 0-321kph in 9.25sec (-1.61sec), 0-400kph in 17.35sec (-3.96sec), 100-200kph in 2.22sec (-0.37sec), 200-250kph in 1.65sec (-0.35sec) and 200-300kph in 3.89sec (-0.9sec).

And exhale. It also managed: 0-100-0kph in 3.32sec (-0.67sec), 0-200-0kph in 8.58sec (-0.27sec), 0-300-0kph in 14.49sec (-1.19sec), 0-400-0kph in 25.79sec (-4.14sec), 0-402-0kph in 26.2sec (-5.21sec), a quarter-mile in 7.9sec (-0.35sec), and a standing mile in 19.71sec (-0.88sec).

Flat out, it managed 431.45kph.

There were a few more, but the Internet only has so much room, taking the tally up to 24 shiny new acceleration records proving once again what you already had a very strong feeling about: Crazy fast car is really very crazy and very fast.

Need a reminder why it’s so crazy and so fast? The Nevera R’s gains over its ‘regular’ sibling include a better aero package that takes in a fixed rear wing and bigger diffuser (15% more downforce), Michelin Cup 2s, better torque vectoring, and a bit more power—2,078hp versus the standard Nevera’s 1,888hp.

“When we first introduced Nevera, it almost seemed like the pinnacle of hypercar performance had been reached,” said big boss Mate Rimac. “In a single generation, we had created a performance jump that previously would have taken decades.

“But now, through relentless innovation, Nevera R goes even faster, while still maintaining much of the comfort and practicality that makes the Nevera a real, usable daily car. Breaking records is in our DNA, and we won’t stop here.”

‘We won’t stop here.’ Ominous. Especially when Rimac noted how the original Nevera blitzed the Nürburgring in 7min and 05.298sec, and set a hillclimb record at Goodwood back in 2023 with a time of 49.32sec. And wouldn’t you know it—it’s Goodwood this weekend.

“There’s plenty more opportunity for Nevera R to now hunt down those remaining records and more,” said Rimac. Your move, Mr. Koenigsegg.
